Dr Lisa is a Senior Clinical Psychologist. She was awarded her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. Dr Lisa has many years of experience providing assessments and interventions to children and adults across a range of settings, including hospitals, liaison psychiatry, community mental health teams, primary care and private practice. Dr Lisa provides clients with a non-judgemental, welcoming space in which to explore and overcome their difficulties.
In addition to her work at Gut Feelings Therapy, Dr Lisa works full time as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in a large public hospital, providing psychological interventions to people experiencing gastrointestinal difficulties, particularly IBD. Dr Lisa is particularly interested in the connection between mind and body. As such, she emphasises the importance of a holistic approach to therapy.
Dr Lisa is a Chartered Psychologist of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Dr Lisa’s approach is characterised by a person-centred, recovery-oriented philosophy. She takes an integrative approach to psychotherapy to best meet the client’s needs. Dr Lisa draws on a variety of psychotherapeutic orientations, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Schema Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Dr Lisa is also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a specialist treatment for trauma and PTSD. Dr Lisa has experience facilitating Mindfulness trainings, parenting workshops and postnatal therapy groups. She also has an interest in Somatic Experiencing and trauma-informed approaches to psychotherapy.
